Think unicorns are awesome, so much so you have imagined strapping a horn to a horse's head, just for a laugh? Well, that might be a bit over the top, but we get it. Unicorn's are awesome and we do want them in our lives. And we have a much better way to do that that doesn't involve horses. It's our Unicorn Awesome stencil and it is awesome. How awesome? Awesome enough to create something magical. This stencil shows a unicorn sitting on its bottom, surrounded by stars, and above the word AWESOME. It's very similar to our Unicorn Fabulous stencil, but slightly different. They make a great pair if you want to use them together. Regardless of what you choose to do, we've got you covered. We laser cut this stencil in the following sizes, so you will be sure to find the right size for your needs: 5” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” All you have to do is get your stencil, choose some funky colors, and make sure the paint is right for the surface material. Then you can paint on any surface, such as walls, wood, metal, plastic, fabric, and more. There are no limits! You had better hope there is a limit on your time, though. Otherwise, you might be painting for a very long time. Not because it takes a long time, but because it's so fun and easy, you'll just keep painting unicorns all day long! WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
