Tiger Stripes Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Tigers have incredibly beautiful coats and their stripes are the envy of many humans. We have tried to incorporate the tiger stripe pattern into our fashion and decor for centuries. While that was often done by using an actual tiger skin, we have a much more ethical and eco-friendly way to enjoy the pattern of tiger stripes in your art and decor – our Tiger Stripes stencil. The Tiger Stripes design is the perfect way to add a Tiger Stripes pattern to any surface. Create Tiger Stripes art on wood, metal, or canvas. Cover a table top, bench seat, or the headboard of a bed with tiger stripes. You can even cover an entire wall with this pattern, use it to create a border around a store window, or go smaller and create Tiger Strips t-shirts or greeting cards. There are no limits to how you can use this stencil because with the right paint for the surface material, you can literally paint this pattern anywhere. And since we offer the Tiger Stripes stencil in the following range of sizes, it's easy to find the right size for your needs: 5” x 6” 8.5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” Your biggest challenge just might be deciding what to do with this fabulous stencil and what color to use. Whatever you choose, using the stencil is a snap. Simply secure it flat to the desired surface and paint using a brush, roller, or spray. And because this durable stencil is totally reusable, you can wash it and store it away until the next time you get the urge to create tiger stripes. Just be warned that people you know will definitely want to borrow this stencil for their own DIY projects.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
