It's summer and that means sun and fun! There are so many ways to enjoy the summer weather and soak it up while you can, but one the most popular ways is embodied by a single word – BEACH. Yes, we love to go to the beach. Those fortunate enough to live near the beach can enjoy it any time, but those who don't still manage to make it there. Day trips or a week at a cottage. No matter. The beach is calling! And this is exactly the inspiration behind our fun and amazing The Beach Is Calling stencil. This stencil has the words “The Beach Is Calling” in the funnest possible combination of fonts. And above the words is the image if a large seashell, you know the kind you can put up to your ear to hear the ocean. It's the perfect design to inspire a beach mood and you can have fun deciding what to do with it. And if you want other beach-inspired stencil designs, we have them, such as our To The Beach stencil. Choosing your project might be easy and it might be a challenge. If you have a beach-side home or cottage, create some art with this design that you can hang inside or outside. You can also paint it onto a garden wall or concrete walkway. You can make art to sell or paint it onto t-shirts. There are limitless possibilities as long as you have two things. First is the correct stencil size for the job, which you can choose from the following range of sizes: 5” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” Second, you need the right type of paint for the medium, in your colors of choice, of course. With the right type of paint, any surface is fair game, such as wood, walls, canvas, metal, plastic, concrete, paper, and fabric. So, let your imagination run wild. And when you are ready to paint, simply secure the stencil to the surface and let the beach-inspired magic happen. Then you can wash the stencil and tuck it away to enjoy another day.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
