Tarantula Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar

Yes, you know what they are. The huge hairy spiders that you can be happy aren't wandering around in your neighborhood. That is unless you live in the southern U.K., Mexico, South America, or any other country around the equator or in the Southern Hemisphere. Some species of these large spiders can grow as big as dinner plates and that sounds intimidating. But there is a way you can enjoy the tarantula without having to deal with the real thing – by using our Tarantula stencil. The Tarantula stencil is the perfect way to bring the tarantula into your home and your DIY projects. The stencil accurately depicts the eight-legged creature that so many people fear. Where would you use this stencil? You might have a child who loves insects and spiders. If you do, you can stencil the Tarantula design onto their bedroom wall, perhaps with other insect stencils, such as our Dragonfly stencil. Or you can stencil the Tarantula design onto furniture. If you want to make signs for a tarantula exhibit, our stencil is the perfect way to do that. The key is to choose the paint color you want to use in the right paint for the medium. Then you can paint on literally any type of surface, such as walls, windows, paper, wood, metal, plastic, and concrete. With the right paint and the right stencil size, you are ready to roll. We laser-cut the Tarantula stencil in the following sizes: 6” x 6” 8” x 8” 12” x 12” 15” x 15” 20” x 20” 25” x 25” 30” x 30” 35” x 35” So, get ready to get your stencil on as you secure your Tarantula stencil and paint your creepy crawly masterpiece. It will look totally professional when you're finished, and you can wash and reuse the stencil as much as you'd like. That makes it an eco-friendly DIY investment.

Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:

  • FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
  • REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
  • DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

  • Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
  • 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
  • Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
  • Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
  • Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.

All stencil designs are copyright protected to their respective designer and intellectual property owner.
