Sunflower Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar

Reusable laser-cut sunflower stencil for arts and DIY crafting projects. **Our sizes are based on the actual sheet. The actual sunflower stencil graphic is about 10% smaller to leave room for masking. Sunflowers are some of the happiest flowers around. These flowers can become massive with some varieties growing as tall as 6 feet. They provide us with those delectable sunflower seeds that are a pleasure to eat as a tasty and healthy snack and they are simply gorgeous to look at because they look just like a small sun. What a great way to bring some sun into the home. And now you can bring the sunflower into your home in a totally new and unique way with our stunning Sunflower stencil. This stencil is simply beautiful in its detail. The center is detailed around the edge and the two layers of petals are lovely. You can use two different colors, black or dark brown for the center and yellow for the petals, when painting this design to really make it come alive. What a stunning design to stencil onto indoor or outdoor furniture, such as chairs and benches. Stencil a large sunflower on the wall in your kitchen or dining room or go smaller and stencil a sunflower border. Pair it with any of our other flower stencils, such as the Chrysanthemum stencil, to create a unique design. You an also make incredible sunflower art, greeting cards, t-shirts, and you can even ice a cake with this stencil, since it's 100% food-grade quality. All you need is the right paint (or icing!) for the job and the right stencil size. We make the Sunflower design in a range of sizes, so you are sure to find the right size for your needs. Available sizes include: 6” x 6” 8” x 8” 12” x 12” 15” x 15” 20” x 20” 25” x 25” 30” x 30” 35” x 35” Now, it's all up to you. How are you going to use your beautiful sunflower stencils? The best part is you don't have to choose just one! This stencil is durable and reusable, so you can wash it after every use and tuck it away until you need it again, or at least until someone you know asks to borrow it.

Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:

  • FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
  • REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
  • DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

  • Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
  • 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
  • Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
  • Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
  • Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
