Shamrocks Shamrock Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Ah, the luck of the Irish. We all want it and on St. Patrick's Day, we can all have it because everyone is Irish on St. Patty's Day. Well, the shamrock is representative of St. Patty's Day and it is the flower of Ireland. And anyone who has seen one, knows that a field of shamrocks is one of the prettiest sites there is. Well, we have created our own version of a field of shamrocks, in the shape of a shamrock. It's our Shamrocks Shamrock stencil and it is so much fun. This is such a fun and lively stencil design. It is a bunch of small shamrocks arranged in the shape of a large shamrock. The smaller shamrocks vary in size, from small to medium to large, just like the range of stencil sizes we offer. Available sizes include: 6” x 6” 8” x 8” 12” x 12” 15” x 15” 20” x 20” 25” x 25” 30” x 30” 35” x 35” Best of all, these are all four-leafed shamrocks! Seriously, anywhere this stencil design is painted, it is sure to bring good luck, as well as delight and happiness, as does our May Your Blessings Shamrock St. Patrick's stencil. You just have to decide where you will paint it. And then you will know what type of paint to get because it has to suit the surface material. Paper, wood, metal, glass, canvas, fabric, and more. The possibilities are endless. When it comes time to paint, you won't even need the good luck of the four leaves because it's so easy. Just secure the stencil and paint. That's all there is to it. You'll have a perfect shamrock image and an easy cleanup ahead of you. Wash the stencil in warm, soapy water and you can store it away until the next time you need a little extra luck of the Irish.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL
- Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
- 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
- Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
