Seed of Life Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar

Overlapping circles have been used throughout human history as a means of creating art and meaning from that art. The Seed of Life is one of many unique patterns of overlapping circles that represents the root of all existence and acts as the base pattern for the Flower of Life. Many people believe the Seed of Life, which is made from seven circles, represents the seven days it took God to create life. This pattern and similar patterns have been used in Islamic and Gothic art and has been around since the 7th century BC. That is some serious history behind this pattern and now you can capture it in our Seed Of Life stencil. The Seed Of Life stencil accurately depicts the seven overlapping circles that form a flower-like pattern. This pattern would be gorgeous on a wall in your home. If you take our largest stencil size, you can create a unique look that will definitely have people talking. If you want to go smaller, you can stencil the Seed Of Life image into furniture, such as a table top or the back of a bench, or you can create beautiful art and handmade greeting cards. Whatever you choose to do with the Seed Of Life stencil, you will have no trouble because we offer it in a range of sizes, which includes: 6” x 6” 8” x 8” 12” x 12” 15” x 15” 20” x 20” 25” x 25” 30” x 30” 35” x 35” The key is to choose the color that most excites you and the right paint for the surface. You can literally paint this image anywhere, including walls, windows, concrete, paper, wood, metal, plastic, and fabric. You can even decorate a cake with it because the mylar stencil is 100% food-grade quality. How awesome is that? All you need to do to use the stencil is secure it in place with some tape and then apply the paint with a spray, roller, or brush. It will take just a few minutes, but the image that is left behind will look as though a professional did it. And because the stencil is reusable, you can wash it and put it away. Then you can choose whether or not to tell your friends and family you did the painting and whether you want to share the stencil with them.

Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:

  • FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
  • REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
  • DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

  • Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
  • 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
  • Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
  • Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
  • Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
