Sand Castle Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
There are occasions when you are looking for a unique image that you can incorporate into a DIY project. You might be creating a piece of art or you need something to spruce up a room in your home or in another venue. You might be making props for a play. Regardless of where you are painting it and why, you will absolutely love our sand castle stencil. This stencil lends itself to so many different projects and potential uses. It's versatile, not only because of its design, but because you can get it in many different sizes and can paint it absolutely anywhere. We laser-cut the stencil in a range of sizes, so it's easy to find the right size for a particular project. It's even easy to get more than one size for different projects because our stencils are so reasonably priced! And with the right paint for the surface material, you can paint it on surfaces like walls, windows, fabric, wood, metal, canvas, concrete, and paper. Plus, the sand castle stencil is incredibly easy to use, from setup to cleanup. Just secure the stencil to the surface and paint using a brush, roller, or spray. Then it's a matter of removing the stencil to reveal a perfect image and washing it thoroughly to ensure it is kept in good condition. With the proper care, this stencil can go through hundreds of uses, whether you want to use it over and over again or lend it to others to use. This is a fabulous DIY investment!
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
