Pit Life Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Originally bred to be fighting dogs, pit bulls have had a bad rap over the years. Yet, these dogs are no more dangerous than other breeds. They have even been used as search and rescue dogs and police dogs. If you have a love of these often-misunderstood dogs, then you will love our fabulous Pit Life stencil, which depicts three gorgeous pit bulls centered in a circle, with the words Pit Life below in a fun font. Our Pit Life stencil is detailed enough to clearly see the shapes of the dogs and the ears poking up from their heads, yet simple enough that even a beginner can easily work with this stencil to create DIY art and decor anyone would love. The question is, what will you do with your Pit Life stencil? We create the stencil in a range of sizes, so you have a lot of flexibility in what you can do with it. Available sizes include: 6” x 6” 8” x 8” 12” x 12” 15” x 15” 20” x 20” 25” x 25” 30” x 30” 35” x 35” Smaller sizes would be great for stenciling the image on furniture, on a dog house, or on a small sign to hang in your yard or home. Larger stencils work well for larger signs, window decor, or posters you can use for an event like a pet adoption day. There truly are no limits to what you can do with the Pit Life stencil. The key to successfully using this stencil is to get the right paint for the surface material. Then you can secure the stencil and paint in whatever colors you choose. When finished, simply clean the stencil and tuck it away until you feel the urge to stencil again.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL
- Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
- 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
- Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
