Pirate Ship Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Pirates have long been a source of fascination and wonder for us. While there are still pirates that roam the seas today, we generally tend to think of the Pirates of the Caribbean type of pirate ship, flying the Jolly Roger, the pirate captain with a peg leg or a patch over one eye. The pirate ship was a thing of beauty, and now you can capture that beauty with our fantastic Pirate Ship stencil. The Pirate Ship design depicts the traditional three-masted ship, like those that sailed the seas so long ago. You can almost see the flags blowing in the ocean breeze. What child wouldn't want this stenciled image as the centerpiece to their bedroom decor? You can do that with our largest size of stencil. Or you can use one of the larger sizes to paint the image of a pirate ship on the set of a play. Paint it onto the window of a toy store. Or go small and make handmade invitations to a pirate-themed birthday party. There are no limits because we laser-cut the Pirate Ship stencil in the following sizes: 6” x 6” 8” x 8” 12” x 12” 15” x 15” 20” x 20” 25” x 25” 30” x 30” 35” x 35” The key to using the stencil is to choose the color that best suits your needs in the paint that is right for the surface material. Then you can secure the stencil and paint, paint, paint. Combine the Pirate Ship stencil with other stencils, such as the fabulous Pirate stencil, for a completely one-of-a-kind design. Then when you're done, simply wash the stencil and store it away until you need it again. Or until someone you know comes knocking on your door asking to borrow it.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
