Pine Cone Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Looking to bring a little of the great outdoors into your DIY projects? Perhaps you love the forest and can't get enough of it. Well, now you can with our incredible Pine Cone stencil. The pine cone is the seed-bearing organ of evergreen trees and they are so very pretty that we have been using them in our decorating for centuries. In fact, in Maine, the pine cone has been designated as the state flower. And many animals eat pine cones, including squirrels, crossbills, and woodpeckers. Even the Parasaurolophus, an herbivore dinosaur, feasted on pine cones 60 million years ago. The question is what can you do with the pine cone? The answer? Anything you want, at least when you are using our fabulous Pine Cone design stencil. This stencil shows a single pine cone hanging at the end of a branch, twigs and spruce needles detailed in the design. And it can be used in so many ways, in part because we offer the stencil in the following range of sizes: 5” x 6” 8.5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” All you need is to choose your colors and the right paint for the surface and you can paint this design anywhere. If you are creating a forest or nature theme in your child's bedroom, create a stencil wall border with the smaller size of Pine Cone stencil. Or go big with a larger version of the image as the centerpiece of the room's decor. You can surround it with other forest images, such as the Pine Trees stencil. You can also stencil this Pine Cone design onto furniture, such as a chair or bench back, or create gorgeous stencil art. There truly is no limit. So, secure your stencil to the desired surface, paint carefully to preserve the detail of the design, and then remove the stencil and enjoy your handiwork. Best of all, this stencil is eco-friendly because it is 100% reusable. That means you can use it again and again for years to come.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
