Ouija Board Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar

Also known as the spirit board or the talking board, the Ouija board has a long history. A means of communicating with the dead, mediums in the late 1800s and into the 1900s used this method of spiritual communication. The original Ouija board was created in Baltimore, Maryland in 1890, although talking boards were used prior to that. But it wasn't only mediums who used the board. Even back then it was used as a parlor game and the popularity of the Ouija board has continued to this day. Now, we all know you can go out and buy a Ouija board, but it's so much better to make your own. That's why we have created our fabulous and intricately detailed Ouija board stencil. This stencil comes in five different sizes, as follows: 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” With this range of sizes, you can easily make a game board of any suitable size. And because you can paint it onto any surface, provided you have the right paint for the material, you can make very solid and wonderful game boards on wood, metal, or plastic. You can also paint this stencil design right onto a table or onto something as big as your concrete basement floor. The Ouija board stencil features the classic design, including the numbers, letters, “Yes” and “No,” and “Farewell.” These are surrounded by a beautiful decorative boarder. So, even if you are just interested in the artistic aspect of this stencil, we have you covered. Using the stencil is simple. Just secure it to the surface and paint, taking care to preserve the detail. Use whatever colors you like and use glow-in-the-dark paint if you want to get extra creative. Then, because the stencil is durable and reusable, you can wash it and tuck it away until you or someone you know needs it again.

Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:

  • FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
  • REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
  • DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

  • Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
  • 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
  • Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
  • Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
  • Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
