Nativity Manger Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar

The Nativity scene is special to so many people for one very amazing reason – it represents the place where Jesus was born. After all, we all know the story of how he was born in a manger with the sheep watching over him. This is truly a remarkable scene to have in your home, particularly during the holiday season. And that is why we are bringing you our Nativity Manger stencil. This detailed stencil depicts the manger, with Mary praying over the baby Jesus, a shepherd standing nearby, two sheep watching, and stars twinkling overhead. The star of Bethlehem is prominent in the center of the manger roof. What a gorgeous piece of art this stencil design would make. You can create such a fine gift for someone in your life with it, or you can make a few of them and sell them at a church craft fair. Paint this scene on a window of a spiritual store or as the backdrop of a play. Combine it with any of our other Christmas stencils, such as our Christmas Angel stencil. Seriously, no matter how you use this stencil you cannot go wrong. It will turn out perfectly every single time. That's because you will have the right stencil size for the job from our range of sizes, which includes: 5” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” All you need to be sure of is you are using the right paint for the medium, whether you are painting on glass, wood, canvas, metal, plastic, or another surface. You can even ice this Nativity scene right onto a Christmas cake because the stencil is food-grade quality. To use the stencil, secure it flat to the surface and apply the paint carefully to preserve the detail of the design. Then you can wash the stencil and tuck it away until next Christmas. Or you can give it to someone you know or donate it to your church art and craft supplies. Either way, it can be used again and again.

Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:

  • FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
  • REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
  • DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

  • Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
  • 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
  • Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
  • Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
  • Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
