If you are in the military or come from a military family, you may well be familiar with the rules followed by those who are serving. If you respect those rules and want to bring them into your home in a fun way, we have just the thing for you. It's our Military House Rules stencil and it lays out all the rules you want followed in your home to ensure you have a happy, respectful, loving environment. This stencil design is nothing but words in a variety of fun fonts, and it is perfect for a home filled with people, laughter, and love. It says, “In this house we do deployment, distance. We honor heroes at home & away. We have fun. We give hugs. We wait patiently. We do Skype. We do homecomings. We do integrity, honor, & dedication. We love each other.” Yes, that is a mouthful, but each and every one of these is a stellar rule for any home, whether you are a military family or not. Best of all, you'll have a blast creating a fun and vibrant piece of stencil art for your home. If you want to be really daring, you can paint this design right onto a wall in your home, perhaps in your living room, entryway, or dining room. You can also create fabulous stencil art to hang in your home, give as a gift, or sell at craft fairs. Put it on a t-shirt, paint it on a tabletop, or paint it anywhere else you know will work for your home and family. This stencil design can be painted on literally any surface, as long as you have the right paint for the medium. And because we offer this stencil in the following sizes, you won't have any problem finding the correct size for your needs: 5” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” While there are a lot of words and detail on this design, it will only take you a few minutes to paint. Even if you use different colors for the different words and sentences, it won't take long and it will look amazing. And cleanup is quick too. Just wash the stencil and tuck it away or pass it on to someone you know who would love to use it.

Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:

  • FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
  • REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
  • DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

  • Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
  • 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
  • Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
  • Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
  • Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
