Manta Ray Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
They are like the birds of the sea, with their large wing-like structure. Manta rays are truly a beautiful sight to see. And now you can see these majestic creatures in your own DIY art and decor with our gorgeous Manta Ray stencil. The Manta Ray stencil is exquisite in its detail. It depicts the telltale shape of this beautiful sea animal, but the inside features a detailed design that is truly stunning. In fact, you can use this stencil design for elegant design projects just as easily as for decorating a child's room. Just think of creating a seascape theme in a child's bedroom, combining the Manta Ray stencil with other sea-themed stencils, such as the Starfish stencil and the Whale stencil. You can create large murals, or you can go smaller and create a beautiful border with the Manta Ray stencil. You can also make incredible art to gift or sell, decorate the window of a pet supply store, or create sets for a play. Having an ocean-themed party? Use the smallest of our Manta Ray stencil to create handmade invitations. We make all this possible because we laser-cut each stencil with precision in a range of sizes, including the following: 5” x 6” 8.5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” This means you can choose your size, you color, and the right paint for the medium. Then you can paint on walls, glass, paper, wood, metal, fabric, canvas, or any other surface you can dream up. Just secure the stencil flat to the surface and create magic. Then all you need to do is wash this reusable stencil and tuck it away until the next time the stenciling bug hits you.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL
- Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
- 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
- Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
