Luck O The Irish Sign Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar

The Luck of the Irish is legendary. But what does it really mean? Is it all those shamrocks that grow throughout the country? Nope. It's actually an American expression that comes from the old mining days in the late 1800s, when many of the most successful miners were Irish or Irish-American. However, these days, we see this expression as meaning having good luck in general and to honor this awesome expression, we have created our Luck O' The Irish Sign stencil. This stencil design looks just like a sign from a hundred years ago, with the words “Luck O' The Irish” surrounded by a simple border. It would be ideal for a piece of awesome stencil art, hanging in your home, in an Irish pub, or in another Irish establishment. It would even look amazing painted directly onto a wall or window of a pub or Irish store, t-shirts for St. Patty's day, as part of the set of a play, and so much more. This is all possible for two very simple reasons. First, as long as you have the correct type of paint for the medium, you can paint this design on any surface you want, whether that is a wall, glass, fabric, wood, paper, or something else. Second, we offer the Luck O' The Irish Sign stencil in the following range of sizes, so you can be certain you will find the right size for your needs: 3” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 8” 11” x 24” 36” x 16” 48” x 22” 55” x 25” All you need to do is choose a fun project, gather your materials, secure the stencil, and paint, perhaps alongside another wonderful Irish stencil, such as our Lucky Shamrocks stencil. And you won't even need the Luck O' The Irish because this stencil is so easy to use and clean. Once it's washed, you can store it away or pass it on to someone you know who needs a little luck.

Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:

  • FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
  • REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
  • DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

  • Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
  • 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
  • Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
  • Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
  • Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.

All stencil designs are copyright protected to their respective designer and intellectual property owner.
