This crustacean-themed Lobster stencil is perfect for a… well… whatever you're planning on using it for. To be honest, we're not sure why you need this, but the fact that you're here tells us we made a good choice when we decided to design this crustacean stencil. Here's what that process looked like… Using high precision lasers, we cut eight adorable legs, two fearsome pincers, and a cute little lobster face out of 10mm-thick Mylar just for you. What's more, each Eaton Worx stencil is constructed from Mylar; a robust, plastic-like material currently used in space suits on the ISS. This ensures that you can continue to reuse the stencil over and over, without damaging the material. Simply slap it across a surface, apply your paint, and when you're done, give it a clean with warm soapy water. Or, if you want it really clean, feel free to use a paint thinner like acetone. The Mylar material is durable enough to withstand even the heaviest duty solvents. One quick note before you purchase, however. Don't forget to select a size for your lobster stencil before ordering. Each Eaton Worx stencil comes in a variety of sizes to suit your needs, but you'll notice that the size listed is for the stencil itself and not the lobster artwork. WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
