Life Is Better On The Farm Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar

Are you a country girl or guy at heart? Do you love living and working on the farm? Well, why wouldn't you. The fresh country air, the wide open spaces, and the feeling of creating something truly your own. It's enough to make many people leave city life to settle down in the country – and a lot of people have. If you love the farm, you will absolutely love our Life Is Better On The Farm Stencil. This stencil is a fun way to express your love of the farm the DIY way. It has the words “Life Is Better on the Farm” with a tractor between the words “on” and “the.” Although if a ranch is a better description of your home, you might want to check out our Life Is Better On The Ranch stencil. The Life Is Better On The Farm stencil would be ideal to use to create fun art and decor on your farm. Create small pieces of art to hang in your farmhouse or display outside. Or go super big and paint it on the side of your barn. You can also create art to sell at craft shows, paint this on a t-shirt, or paint it on the side of your tractor or farm truck. No matter what you decide to do, be sure to choose the right stencil size from our selection of sizes, which includes: 5” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” Once you have the project chosen and the stencil in hand, you will need to get the right paint for the medium. This is critical because paint for the side of your truck will be different than what you would need for rustic wood art. So, choose the right type of paint in the colors of your choice, and have at it. All you need to do is secure the stencil flat to the desired surface and paint using a brush, roller, or spray. Then clean up your supplies and wash the stencil in warm, soapy water, using a bit of paint remover if needed, and tuck the stencil away until you need it again, or at least until someone comes knocking asking to borrow it.

Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:

  • FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
  • REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
  • DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

  • Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
  • 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
  • Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
  • Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
  • Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
