Keep Calm Carry On Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
The saying, “Keep Calm and Carry On” seems like a saying that came out within the past few years. Yes, it was first used commercially in 2000 and it has spawned an entire collection of Keep Calm sayings. But it turns out that the saying was originally used back in 1939 in a motivational poster the British government sent out just before World War II started. Their goal? To raise the morale of the British people. And this saying still encourages people to be positive and stay calm in the toughest of times, which is why we have brought you our Keep Calm Carry On stencil. This stencil will allow you to spread this motivational message in any way you want. You can paint it big on a wall in your home or go small and create individual handmade greeting cards that contain the saying. Whatever you choose to do with it, you'll be happy to know the stencil design is the exact design used in the original 1939 British poster, with the crown situated above the words. To use the Keep Calm Carry On stencil, you need to choose the right color for your project and the right paint for the medium, whether that is a wall, canvas, glass, metal, wood, or plastic. Then you need to choose the right stencil size from our wide range of sizes, which include: 3” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 8” 11” x 24” 36” x 16” 48” x 22” 55” x 25” Once you have all this, all you need to do is secure the stencil and create a masterpiece pf inspiration. Then wash the stencil and tuck it away or lend it to someone else who wants to incorporate this motivational saying in their DIY art and decor.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.

- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
