Jesus Fish Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
The Ichthys is a symbol that may sound unknown and complicated, but you've probably seen it around a lot. And you probably know it by a different name – the Jesus Fish symbol. This symbol has been a Christian symbol for nearly 1,000 years, and these days you will commonly find it as a bumper sticker or as a necklace. It looks like a fish and is commonly shown with the word Jesus inside it. So, what if you want to show your love for Jesus? What better way than to incorporate this symbol into your DIY projects? We have made that possible with our awesome Jesus Fish stencil. The Jesus Fish stencil design captures the classic design of the name Jesus inside the fish shape. It makes it so easy for you to paint it anywhere you like. In fact, as long as you have the right paint for the medium, you can paint it on any surface, even right onto your car, if you'd rather that than a bumper sticker. You can also paint it onto t-shirts, create Jesus Fish art, or use this food-grade stencil to ice the symbol onto a cake. And if you would like to add a bit of a twist to your art, consider using our Jesus Fish Cross stencil, instead. Whatever stencil you use, be sure to choose the right stencil size for the job from our range of sizes, which includes: 3” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 8” 11” x 24” 36” x 16” 48” x 22” 55” x 25” Choosing what you will do with this stencil is the hardest part. Using it is simple. Just secure the stencil to the surface and paint. Then you can wash the stencil and tuck it away until you or someone you know needs it again. This stencil is durable and will last for years to come.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
