Hocus Pocus Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
No, we aren't talking the Bette Midler movie. We're talking about magic, true and pure, the kind with the magic wand, the top hat, and the disappearing rabbit. The kind where you saw a person in half and then put them back together. The kind where the magician says, “Hocus Pocus.” In honor of that original form of magic, of the slight of hand, we have created our Hocus Pocus stencil. This stencil has the words Hocus Pocus, surrounded by stars and with a basic magic wand. It is simple, yet powerful. And it would be so fun to paint in so many places. You could use our smallest stencil size to create invitations to a magic show. You could paint it onto the backdrop for the stage. You could paint it onto a magician's magic box. You can even make signs and posters for an event, making them big enough to be seen from the road. And if you really want to, you can combine this stencil with one like our Cauldron Of Witches Brew stencil, for a witchy effect. You see, we offer the Hocus Pocus stencil in a wide range of sizes, including the following: 5” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” When you combine the right stencil size with the right type of paint for the surface, you can paint anywhere, such as on a wall, glass, wood, plastic, paper, fabric, metal, concrete, canvas, and more. Plus, this is a seriously easy stencil to use! Just secure it to the surface and create your own magic. And when you're done, you can wash the stencil and tuck it away like magic. In fact, this stencil is so magical (and durable), you will have it to use for years to come.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL
- Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
- 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
- Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
