And now you can bring the fun and magic of footprints into your home with our fabulous Footprints stencil. These footprints are super simple, and easy to use even for a beginner. The only question is where will you put them? You can actually put our Footprint design anywhere you like. You can paint them side-by-side or stagger them for a walking effect. Paint them on a walkway leading up to your house or a store or other venue. Paint them on a floor in a business, community center, or somewhere else that is fun. These footprints can be used to show people where to go. Just follow the footprints! Or you can make some fun stencil art with the Footprint stencil. The only limit is your imagination, so let that imagination go wild! You can get our Footprint stencil in a range of sizes. This makes it possible to find the right size for your needs. Then all you need to do is secure the stencil with some tape and create your footprint masterpiece. When you're done, simply wash the stencil in warm, soapy water and tuck it away until you need it again, or at least until someone wants to borrow it. WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
