Flower of Life Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
If you're a fan of sacred geometry, then this Flower of Life stencil is perfect for painting your walls, floors, and ceilings. Originally used as a spiritual symbol in manuscripts, palaces, and temples, the Flower of Life is a recognizable design comprised of multiple circles, evenly and perfectly spaced. But even if you're not a woo-woo New Agey type, this stencil is still an interesting pattern sure to liven up your walls. Feel free to ignore the spiritual connotations, grab your paints, and get creative! On the other hand, if you are actually a little nuts about sacred geometry, try pairing your Flower of Life stencil with its companion stencil, the Seed of Life. Together, there's no end to the creative possibilities. Try layering them, applying them one-by-one in a pattern along a hallway, or whatever you can think of. When you're done and your house is completely covered in creative, snap a quick photo and tag us on Instagram using the hashtag #stencilrevolution. You'll be pleased to hear that 100% of our stencils, including this one, are created here in the States using 10mm-thick Mylar sheets. Why is that important? Well, Mylar is a very durable material and can be used and abused almost indefinitely. In other words, you'll be able to use your Flower of Life stencil over and over, showing off your love for sacred geometry in every room of the house. Take that, single-use plastics! Ready to get painting? Choose from one of the sizing options listed above to get started. However, keep in mind that each of our stencils includes a .75” inside margin. The sizes above are for the total stencil size, including this inside margin. The actual Flower of Life design will be a little smaller than the total dimensions. Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
