Eat Local Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Ever heard of the 100-mile diet? It's all about eating locally produced food and this is something every community needs. Eating local food means supporting local farmers and food producers. It means getting great food, in-season, that tastes far better than anything that travels thousands of miles to get to your grocery store. And now we have a stencil design that promotes the eat local movement – the Eat Local stencil! The Eat Local stencil doesn't have any words on it. What it does have is a variety of images that represent the farm and locally grown food. These are images such as a farmer, corn on the cobb, a pumpkin, a bottle of milk, a chicken and eggs, and more. You can easily use this stencil design for a wide variety of projects. All you need is the right paint for the medium and the right stencil size for your needs. Available sizes include: 5” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” So, get out your paint, secure the stencil flat to the surface, and create! You can make farm or farmer's market signage big enough to see from the road. Just pair a few of the images on the Eat Local stencil with another stencil, such as our Farmers Market stencil. You can also make smaller signage for a farmer's stand, paint these designs in the window of a local farm store, or use them in the set of a play. Joining an eat local rally? Make great signs with the Eat Local stencil. There are no limits to what you can do with the Eat Local stencil! Plus, it is environmentally friendly because it is 100% reusable. When you're done painting, wash the stencil with warm, soapy water and tuck it away until you or someone you know needs it again.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

- 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
- Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
