Eagle Head Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Each state has a special charm that is unique to them, and we wanted to capture that charm in a special way. You might not think of a state outline as charming, but when it's DIY, you can do anything you want with that outline. This is why we have brought you our eagle head stencil, which provides you with the perfect outline of the state. You can make this design a simple outline, a filled in shape, or you can paint something inside it, like the state flag, the state name, or anything else you can think of. Plus, you can paint it anywhere you want, provided you have the right paint for the medium. The challenge will be choosing what to do first. Make t-shirts? Signs and posters for an event? On the concrete outside a tourist venue? In a window or on the wall of a government office? Seriously, there are so many options it will be hard to pick just one. Then again, you don't have to. This stencil is 100% reusable, which means you can do as many projects as you want. To use the stencil, simply secure it flat to the desired surface and paint. When you remove it, you will have a perfect state image to admire and show off. Then just wash the stencil and you can tuck it away until the next time inspiration hits.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL
- Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
- 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
- Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
