Crab Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Crabs are fun and interesting creatures. They scuttle around in a sideways motion, entertaining kids and grownups alike. The crab is also the symbol for the zodiac sign Cancer. Whether you just love the crustacean or you are into astrology, our Crab stencil will allow you to create art and decor in precisely the way you wish. You can paint our Crab stencil on a child's bedroom wall, making it the centerpiece for an under-the-sea theme. You can also paint it on furniture, maybe the crab on one dresser drawer and other sea creatures on the other drawers. You can make fun art with the Crab stencil, paint it in your bathroom, on the wall above the tub, or make a boarder with smaller stencils. The beauty of it is you can do so much with the Crab stencil because we make it in so many sizes, including: 5” x 6” 8.5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” The detail in our Crab stencil is incredible. You can see all eight of the crab's legs and even the ridges in its claws. This detail is made possible thanks to our in-house laser cutting process. All you need to do to use the stencil is secure it to the surface you are painting, ensure you have the right paint for the medium, and paint in the detail. When you lift the stencil, the image will be sharp and clear. Cleaning the stencil is simple with soap and water. You can use a little turpentine for stubborn paints. Then store this reusable stencil away until you need it again, which might not be long because stenciling is highly addictive.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
