Breast Cancer Ribbon Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar

Awareness ribbons have been used since the Middle Ages. The yellow ribbon was the symbol of the Puritan Army during the time of the English Civil War. These days, awareness ribbons come in all different colors, but perhaps the most popular of these is the pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness. In honor of that, we have created our Breast Cancer Ribbon stencil. This stencil shows the folded ribbon as people wear it pinned onto their clothing or jacket. You can use the stencil to create signs and posters to advertise fundraising and awareness events or to create a special piece of art for a loved one or to sell to raise money for breast cancer research. But that's just the beginning. Even though we've called this the Breast Cancer Ribbon stencil, you can use it for any cause you want simply by changing the color. Yellow for those in military service, red for HIV/AIDS awareness, and purple for Alzheimer's awareness, it's all up to you. Whatever way you choose to use the Breast Cancer Ribbon stencil for, you can make it as big or small as you want. We offer the stencil in the following sizes: 5” x 6” 8.5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” All you need to do is make sure you have the right paint for the medium in the right color. You can stencil the design on any surface, including walls, glass, paper, plastic, metal, wood, canvas, and concrete. The mylar stencil is even food-grade, so you can decorate a cake with the ribbon design. All you need to do to use the stencil is secure it to the desired surface and paint. Then you can wash the stencil and tuck it away until you need it again. Since it's 100% reusable, you will have it on hand for years to come.

Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:

  • FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
  • REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
  • DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

  • Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
  • 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
  • Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
  • Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
  • Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.

All stencil designs are copyright protected to their respective designer and intellectual property owner.
