Bonsai Tree Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Bonsai is an ancient form of horticultural art that originated in Japan in the 6th century. It is the practice of shaping small potted trees, resulting in pleasing shapes that mimic the shapes of large trees. You may not be able to create a Bonsai tree of your own, but you can still enjoy its magic with our Bonsai Tree stencil. This stencil is simply gorgeous, with its curving tree trunk, leafy branches, and decorative pot. In fact, this stencil is truly a piece of art all on its own. The Bonsai Tree stencil is ideal for a range of uses. You can stencil a large image onto a wall in your home, making it the focal point of the room's decor. You can also create stencil art that you can hang in your home or sell at craft shows. The Bonsai Tree stencil design is ideal on patio furniture or even on the concrete outside your home or a fence or garden gate. You can even use the smaller stencil to create greeting cards. Or you can paint it onto a store window to help entice passersby to come on in. This versatility is possible thanks to the range of sizes in which we offer the Bonsai Tree stencil, which includes: 6” x 6” 8” x 8” 12” x 12” 15” x 15” 20” x 20” 25” x 25” 30” x 30” 35” x 35” So, choose your shades of green and brown or gray. Paint your bonsai design in the colors that will make it pop in the setting you've chosen. Just be sure the paint is right for the medium on which you are painting. Then once you're done, you can wash the stencil and store it away for another day because it is 100% reusable.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
