Beware Of Cute Dog Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar

If you have a dog, it is wise to have a beware of dog sign. If you have a cute dog, you might think you can't possibly put up a beware of dog sign because, well, it's so darn cute. There is definitely nothing scary about your dog. But you can still let people know you have one and we have the perfect DIY way to do just that. It's our Beware Of Cute Dog stencil and it's nearly as adorable as your dog. It also has a unique twist. This sign does actually say, “Beware of the Dog.” But it then goes on to say, “Well, never mind the dog. Beware of the Humans.” There is an outline of a small cute dog and a few paws and bones spread around the design to add a little extra oomph. What do you do with this stencil? Anything you want! Seriously, you can use it more than once to make the best signs for around your home, to give as gifts, or to sell at craft shows. The key to using this stencil is simple. First, decide on your project. Then choose the stencil size you need from our following range of sizes: 5” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” Once you've done this, get the right type of paint for the medium on which you are painting. This can be wood or metal to make a sign to hang on your front porch, on your gate, or at your back door. It could be painting it on the side of your dog's doghouse. It could be painting it on the wall over your dog's sleeping place inside your home. It could be making t-shirts or greeting cards. It could be painted in the window of a pet store. Now, here's the best thing about using this stencil. You can do it all, from setup to cleanup, in just a few minutes. The stencil makes it so easy. Just secure it to the surface, paint, then remove it and wash it with warm, soapy water, using a little paint remover if needed. That's literally all there is to it. This might be a good thing, but if you love stenciling, you're going to want to find other ways to use it. Of course, you can always check out our other dog stencils, such as our Dog Bone stencil.

Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:

  • FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
  • REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
  • DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL

  • Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
  • 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
  • Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
  • Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
  • Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
