Bear Claw Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
The claws of a bear are a menacing sight indeed. Not something you would ever want to meet in person, the bear claw makes a great design you can use in your art and decor. And we make that possible with our fabulous and lifelike Bear Claw stencil, which features the entire bear paw with all five of its long, sharp claws. The bear paw has long been a symbol of strength and healing in Native American cultures and you will often find it in their art. You can make your own art with our Bear Claw stencil, giving it a Native American feel or creating something completely unique, perhaps combining this stencil with the Native American symbol of protection represented in our Cow Skull stencil. You can bring the power of this symbol into your home, painting it onto a wall or onto floor tiles. This is also a great design to use when decorating the cottage. The uses of the Bear Claw stencil are only limited by your imagination. You can paint it onto virtually any surface, provided you have the right paint for the medium. This includes surfaces such as walls, glass, wood, metal, plastic, paper, canvas, concrete, and fabric. Since the stencil is food-grade, you can even decorate a cake with it. Plus, we laser-cut the Bear Claw stencil in a range of sizes, so you can find what you need, whether it's big or small. Sizes include: 6” x 6” 8” x 8” 12” x 12” 15” x 15” 20” x 20” 25” x 25” 30” x 30” 35” x 35” There is enough room around the Bear Claw design to secure the stencil to the surface you are painting. Then just paint and remove the stencil for a crisp image. The Bear Claw stencil is 100% reusable, so don't throw it away! Just wash it in warm, soapy water and store it for future use.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL
- Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
- 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
- Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
