Banksy Love Rat Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Banksy is well-known worldwide for his creative and often controversial graffiti art. One of his most famous pieces is the Love Rat, which he first stenciled in Liverpool. The image shows a big black rat holding a paint brush and a freshly painted heart in red, the dripping paint making it look like a bleeding heart. Banksy actually put on his website, “ideal for a cheating spouse.” However, there are so many other ways you can use this image, which is why we created the Banksy Love Rat stencil. The Banksy Love Rat stencil shows perfectly the image painted by Banksy. You can use the original colors, or come up with your own. Either way, your creation will be impressive. Make your own Banksy art, go big and graffiti this in your own neighborhood (legally of course), or make Banksy greeting cards. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you use the right paint for the surface material, which will allow you to paint on any medium, such as wood, walls, concrete, metal, plastic, and more. Then get the right stencil size to suit your needs. From small to large, we have it all, including: 5” x 6” 5” x 11” 18” x 12” 24” x 18” 36” x 24” 48” x 32” 55” x 35” Imitating Banksy has never been easier. Just secure the stencil flat to the surface and paint using a brush, roller, or spray. You can paint it alone or do it alongside any of our other Banksy stencils, such as the Banksy Hip Hop Rat stencil. Then you can easily wash the stencil in some warm, soapy water, using a little paint remover if needed, and tuck it away until you feel the urge to stencil again. And you will feel that urge again and again, which is why this stencil is such a great DIY investment.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.
7.5 MIL MYLAR STENCIL MATERIAL
- Medium Weight. Feels as thick as card stock
- 7.5 Mil (0.19 mm) thickness
- Very flexible for tight curves and cylinder shapes
- Recommended for fine detailed craft stencils and smaller stencils
- Reusable as long as they are kept clean and well maintained
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
