Ampersand Sans Stencil - Reusable - 7.5 MIL (190 Micron) Thick Mylar
Say it loud, say it clear. Say “and” like you mean it with our incredible Ampersand Sans stencil. This popular symbol for the word “and” originally came from the Latin word for “and,” which was “et.” These days, we see it everywhere, including in company names and common shorthand, such as R&B and B&B. It's even used in screen credits to denote a closer collaboration between people than simply using the word “and.” The question is, how will you use the Ampersand? You can use our Ampersand Sans stencil to create simple artwork to gift or sell. You can paint it onto t-shirts, make a wall border, put it on homemade greeting cards, or stencil it onto furniture. The potential uses are many because you can combine this stencil with our Rufina Letter stencil to add letters to you ampersand design. Plus, we laser-cut our Ampersand Sans stencil in a wide range of sizes, including: 6” x 6” 8” x 8” 12” x 12” 15” x 15” 20” x 20” 25” x 25” 30” x 30” 35” x 35” Plus, as long as you have the right paint for the medium, you can paint it on virtually any type of surface, such as walls, wood, metal, concrete, plastic, glass, or fabric. You can even paint it on a cake with icing because our mylar stencil is 100% food-grade. It's also 100% reusable, so you can use it over and over again for years to come. To use it, simple secure it flat to the surface, use the colors of your choice, and paint! Then wash it with warm water and soap and store it away until you or someone you know wants to use it again. Just beware, that might be sooner than you think, because once you start stenciling, you won't want to stop.
Here are some advantages of using Mylar stencil material:
- FLEXIBLE: Mylar can wrap around cylinders and uneven or irregular surfaces, and can be rolled for shipping and storage.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Our Mylar is solvent proof, so cleaning up paint or ink is quick and simple.
- REUSABLE: Our stencils are built to withstand normal painting wear and tear, and keeping your stencil template clean is the best way to ensure a longer life.
- DURABLE: Mylar sheets are reputably the strongest type of stencil material, and maintains durability without compromising the pliable structure.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?
As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.
Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.
There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
